Empathy?
How can we be authentic when presented with an opportunity to use empathy? Empathy
is not having to agree or disagree, its not about giving a value judgment or
expressing our feelings in the moment. Its suspending our own judgments and
sensing and responding to the unique experiences of another. Go to Empathy?
The pattern
How often have we wanted to advise someone on how to get out of a messy
situation? How often have we got caught in a cycle of providing advice and
getting a 'yes but' in reply. And slowly we get locked in to
trying to rescue
this person.

Voices
We are often told to do the right thing. But doing the right thing can mean different
things to different people—religious influences, our social circle, friends,
the rules in our head, laws, societal mores etc.—all impact
on our decisions.
When we tell someone to do the right thing, we are not helping them at all. Go
