WHEN THE LEADERSHIP TEAM NEEDS TO COMMUNICATE CHANGE

COMMUNICATE CHANGE WITH CARE

COMMUNICATE TOUGH DECISIONS WITH CARE AND CANDOUR

This program is most effective when it is conducted prior to change announcements or in preparation for town-hall type consultations with staff.

Some of the key challenges during times of change are the demands on leaders to:
· Share key messages with employees and stakeholders with care and candor,
· Reinforce the organization's values and vision and
· Paint a clear picture of the new future of the organization.

The objectives of this just-in-time coaching workshop are to:
· Help the leadership team to communicate tough decisions and changes with care and candor
· Help the leadership team prepare for face-to-face conversations with key stakeholders
that are open, transparent and unscripted
· Help the leadership team to reinforce the vision and values of the organization

Workshop deliverables
The workshop is highly interactive and is geared towards experiential learning in a safe environment.
Although each client has a unique combination of deliverables, the following is an example of outcomes:
· Breaking the ice and encouraging open and transparent dialogue
· Setting parameters for authentic conversations and creating a safe environment for real dialogue
· Handling an emotionally-charged situation with professionalism, while balancing the need for people to feel
   heard and understood
· Communicating with empathy and respect
· Responding using personal power rather than positional power
· Reframing and focusing the conversation on interests rather than responding emotionally,
  defensively or dismissively
· Explaining business decisions from an interest-based perspective rather than a positional perspective
· Transitioning to the way forward when appropriate while acknowledging possible unfinished conversations
   and current concerns.

"I had the pleasure of working with Tracey Wimperly and Dene Rossouw in the fall of 2009. Together, they prepared and delivered a customized workshop for BCAA's senior executive team, and the experience was an unabashed success. The formula for their success can be found in the care and attention they give to understanding and responding to their clients' unique needs, to their depth of knowledge and experience, to their willingness to adjust - even at the last minute - and to their professionalism and people-centred style. I would engage their services again and would recommend them to other communicators without reservation."
